I had a Fabarm Martial 14" barrel - wasn't a fan and sold it.Good point, out of the box it's possibly the best, closest comparison to the short 590.
I kept my Fabarm and sold all 3 of my 590A1's. Great guns, but I realized they were pretty much useless to me not having chokes.I had a Fabarm Martial 14" barrel - wasn't a fan and sold it.
Specifically the loading gate much prefer my Mossberg.
Was at the Riders Lions game last week - good game might have been different outcome with Harris in lineup.I kept my Fabarm and sold all 3 of my 590A1's. Great guns, but I realized they were pretty much useless to me not having chokes.
Your 'new' owner is doing great stuff, and you've got an excellent QB in Adams Jr. I was at the Rider Argo game the week before, getting ready to watch tonights game from the comfort of home. Cheaper beer if nothing else. Was at the Riders Lions game last week - good game might have been different outcome with Harris in lineup.
It's from Shoten Armory in the US. They make a few options that are great with pistol grip setups.Who makes that bolt release? That looks nifty.
The longer barrel, the tighter the choke=more felt recoil. A 14" cylinder bore is a piece of cake. For non-bird hunting, non-skeet shooting, a 14 inch barrel is pretty much the sweet spot. If you're looking for predator defence (pretty much any predator) you won't find a handier, more accomplished firearm. They won't trip you up in thick brush, they don't snag and they're faster to shoulder. The recoil thing is a bit of a red herring, as proper technique is pretty much everything in shot gun shooting anyway. I knew a 5'6" 110 pound Croatian girl whose favourite shotgun was an SP-10, she was quite awe inspiring in every way, including mag dumps from a ten gauge. If she can handle a ten gauge, a grown man can handle a 14 inch 12 gauge.
I’ve got shotguns with barrels from 12.5” to 30” and my 14” & 20” see the most use, especially for hunting small game. There is no novelty involved, the 14” and 20” with chokes are the best. However, my friends and family say that the novelty of the short shotgun does not survive its lack of utility and that I would be better of with the Magpul version as its a full lenght shotgun with better ergonomics. What do you think?

Yeah Fabarm make a hell of a shotgun, smoothest action out of the box. Mine is a never sell shotgun.See if you can find a used Fabarm. Smoothest, best built import I've ever handled. NATO standard. New ones are outa sight. I sold mine for under $700 and wish I hadn't.
