I am looking at buying an older Ruger 10/22. I shot ten rounds of Remington Thunderbolt at 25 yds while resting against the top of my rifle case. I had removed the scope when cleaning the 10/22 and was re-sighting it. Besides the group being high and to the left, is $150 too much for a old 118 ###xx serial number 10/22 with a cheap scope? Or should I pass and save my money for something more accurate as the 10/22 is not know for its stock, out of the box accuracy?

Oh, I know that I pulled round #6 high so the rifle cannot be blamed for this shot

If you don't buy it, send me the info and I will.

**Whoa, maybe time for me to get a new computer. Hang-fire,fire,fire,fire.... I guess 233 MMX and 64M of RAM doesn't cut it anymore**
Sorry

Either that,or you really want to buy this gun I am guessing....

I've had some 10/22's that wouldn't shoot close to that without a few more $$$$'s in mods...definately a keeper for sure.....Very nice group, especially for a 5 yard target   ...kidding

Good price for a RB carbine. I'd go for it. I got mine used, for the same price, 15 some odd years ago, and it groups like that with ammo it likes. Good enough for the grouse shooting it sees. Well done, considering the ammo- the Thunderturds don't have much of a rep for accuracy.

Definitely!

For $150.00 I would absolutely go for it. There are so many aftermarket parts and accessories for it that you could have an almost completely new gun with the same investment a "new in the box" gun would cost you...
But then it sounds like it shoots pretty good already. Use it till it starts to malfunction, then do a rebuild. Either way you are ahead of the game.

150$ for a 10/22??? the fact that you dont know the answer says to me you dont even deserve that gun,its a friggin steal

lol...I got mine for $70....

All thats original is the bolt (which I had refinished with a new firing pin, headspaced, and new extractor - also had it jewelled) and the receiver. A cheap 10/22 will be the best $700 gun you'll ever own...(yes I meant $700 - which is what she cost me after all the mods, hi-cap mags, etc.)
