Ok. So I'm waiting til I can afford a tavor or XCR as my main battle rifle. So for now should I upgrade my stainless 10/22 with a tactical stock n stuff. Or get a keltec sub2000 for practice / plinking till the big funds are available for a proper black rifle?

Your thoughts?

I wood up grad the 10/22. I have the Sub2000 and the 10/22, the sub is cool my wife and kids, as well as there friends but the ergonomics are kind of weird and it feels kind of cheep, I personally like my 10/22 cheaper to shoot, easier to customize and feels solid where the sub after a few thousand rounds feels a little sloppy.

If you save the money you'd spend on a Sub2k you'll be that much closer to having a Tavor. Just saying.
But I'd go 10/22. Everyone should have one, and it'll last WAY longer than a kel-tec. I had a Sub2k for a while, but like already mentioned, it's a cheaply made novelty firearm that won't last. Its a fun plinker, but very junky. I can't tell you how many thousands of rounds I have through my 10/22, but its up there. Still haven't replaced a single part. There isn't a Sub2k out there that would last as long without replacement parts.

Leave the 10/22 alone. Practice shooting with the guns you have and save the money you'd have spent on the 10/22 upgrades or whatever and buy the black rifle of your choice that much sooner. :)

If you need an interim rifle, buy a VZ/CSA/CZ858. You can get a used one for only $200 more than a Sub2k, and it actually is a legit battle rifle. "upgrades" to your 10/22 are just going down the drain. It's always going to be a 10/22

Out of curiosity, who are you mainly battling against?

Lol no one. Just looking for a black rifle and sometimes people call em that.

Thanks for the fasy reply guys! Sounds like I should pass on the sub2k and wait. Cheers

In general "battle rifle" tends to refer to the intermediate-caliber, full size rifles like the M1 Garand, M14, FAL and others like it.

I would say you're better off saving the money for now, it will let you get the tavor that much sooner. The price of a Sub2000 would make a decent deposit on a tavor.

those pesky papermen have fallen in line again to invade our ranges. they keep marching toward us in multiple waves with a 50 meter dispersion between them. They come toward us fearlessly under leadership of Herman the German, codename Fig.11.

For minimal money in the meantime check out the stocks available on taccessories website, they are a site sponsor and will ship anywhere in Canada.
Big picture though just save your money and buy a used Tavor off the EE as soon as you can afford it. Keep in mind you will need an additional $400 for ammo to get started.
