Just bought the first gun. Glock 17 Gen 3.

Anyone in the edmonton area know of decent prices for 9mm and how many per box? looking for 124 grain to bypass any underpower issues.

also thinking about reloading. Just tryin to do the math and see if it would be cheaper in the long run. If i shoot 2-3 times a week and 100-250 rounds per range visit.

Thoughts?

Reloading 9mm to save money is dubious if your time is worth anything. But cheap deals of reloadable brass ammo. and keep the brass. One day. for other reasons, you will start reloading.

Look to see if anyone around you sells reloaded ammo. That might be your cheapest option.

If you shoot more than 150-200rnds per range session, you might want to look into a progressive press. So far, I'm just shooting about 125-150rnds per range session of 9mm so a single stage press doesn't bother me. If I shoot FMJ, it's about $7/50rnds and much less if I shoot lead.

If you are buying reloaded ammo, you ONLY want to get the factory reloaded stuff like Wolf, Canadian BDX or even Budget's (which is pretty dirty). I won't shoot any John Doe's reloads, at least not in my guns. FYI, it is illegal to sell privately made reloads.

he does have a Glock which from the manual and all the other posts doesn't work with lead ammo. something to do with the space-time continuum or something
