To Clean a Remington 1100 Action........

Take it apart.

Easy gun to take apart by holding the tabs in and slide the whole bolt / carrier assembly out. After takeing out the trigger group spray away with your G96 give it a good wipe down after along with the mag tube and reassemble.

I would avoid the drip dry method on a 1100 or any other gun. The 1100's I've owned were finicky at the best of times and that method won't aid function of the gun and likely attract crud.

just follow the manual- that's what i've always done- and i've had my 1100 since 74 and it's still like brand new- the only thing i spray is the trigger mech after driving out the two pins and then re-oil- and you don't /shouldn't do that every time

Important to clean the gas cylinder and magazine tube. The inside of the action doesn't get particularly dirty; a once-a-season cleaning job usually. But do pay attention to the bolt return spring if you're having cycling issues.

you should also clean the gas orifice the most important part use the correct size drill bit 3'' mag..073'' 2 3/4'' ,079'' residue builds up in side and will not bleed off enough gas to cycle the action .

Well................

Gave up after one round of skeet tonight. Had issues with my ammo. Traded a a box for another and I got to the finish the round with issues.

Failure to extract. Jamming. Action closing on fired shell. Like a stove pipe. Firing pin going click on a live round.

I should have cleaned it after last time but I was lazy.

Do you guys lube the magazine at all?

Would Flitz metal polish on the mag help at all?
