I've been told by a fellow M14 owner that in order to solve the piece-of-spent-brass-jamming-between-the-bolt-and-ARMS-mount-problem, that I could simply file lightly the extractor to change the direction of the ejected brass (i.e. make it eject straight to the right, and not up and right)

Anyone experienced this procedure?

What people have done is tune the ejector spring by trimming off a coil or two.

The M14 was designed to eject up & right.

You might also try a USGI ejector spring.

IMHO, DON'T screw with the extractor. More often the naught more problams arise.

This is the main problem with the ARMS mount. It does sit nice and low, but there is a trade off.

This is why if anyone asks me, I recomend the SEI mount over the ARMS.

SKBY.
