to order or not to order

Im going to do one big order from Lee for dies and some other small necessary thing for reloading for the first time and i was wondering if it was wise to do so, my main concern is that from some of the forms i'v been reading is i can't order certain things from the states because of some stupid laws and if that may pertain to reloading tools. powder and lead i purchase locally, but i don't want to be running around to every gun store for different tools. it my be silly question but i had to ask.:confused:
ps the dies i need to order are the 270 WSM and the local shops don't have them
 
I'm also wondering if its a problem to order reloading supplies (from online stores etc), to an address in the US, and then pick them up and bring them across the border into canada..... Anyone?
 
Order away. hand reloading tools are not restricted at all.You will probably find that FS Reloading and Titan have better prices than buying direct from Lee.Brass and bullets for hand gun and rifle are regulated but shot shell components aren't. Powder and primers are also regulated.
 
tools are all ok to order from the usa, components like brass, powder, primers, bullets are not allowed.

check out titan reloading for a price comparison as they may be cheaper. i've ordered from them 5 times and have been very happy with them. if your a bullet caster they seem to only stock the newer style lee 2 cavity molds which are way better then the older style.

If those reloading supplies include cases, bullets, powder or primers, you would be committing a federal offense under US law. Homeland Security sets up check stops on the US side of the border, and if they catch you trying to export restricted items, they will seize them, and you may not be allowed into the USA for a long time. There is no issue with exporting tooling out of the USA.
 
O ordered all my stuff from Dillon without a problem. It all ended upi at a US mailbox, safely waiting for me to pick it up.
 
There are a lot of shops that do not ship to Canada, shooting supplies or otherwise. You are in SE Sask, if you really want something that you can't get at a reasonable price, have it shipped to a border town drop and go pick it up. If your driving cost more than you save, just find it somewhere else. I often ship a number of items to one place and then make the trip to grab them all in one trip. Most drop-ship locations charge $5 per package, so don't forget to factor that in as well.
