Well, after all the discussion of those idiotic no-minds that posted video of themselves on youtube shooting ducks....

We've had a somewhat similar situation at our lake this weekend.

Two properties over from us, on lakefront property, a family and some friends were around for the long weekend. At some point some of them were throwing rocks at ducks and ducklings swimming past. I don't think they hit any, but they were cheering and hollering whenever they got close. I didn't see this, but my neighbor reported it to me later.

They also were shooting pellet gun (s?) into the lake, not far where my neighbor and his family were swimming out front. They had to come in, as they felt uncomfortable with these guys shooting.

Finally, these same people come up for a week or 2 every year, and they always bathe in the lake... shampoo, soap, etc! They have been told before that they are polluting the waters.... but they don't seem to care. They went a step further this year, by driving their ATV into the lake to wash it off after a ride.

Now, I usually turn a blind eye to a lot of questionable stuff that goes on around the lake in summer...the city folk get their crummy 2 weeks off, to come up to the lake and blow off some steam, party up, and that's fine. It's noisy as hell for a few weeks at the lake, boats everywhere, machines roaring around the roads and trails- then Labor Day comes and it's all over with for another year.

But these people are ignorant, and they are teaching the next generation to be just as ignorant....Cranked up music till 4am is one thing... but trying to kill ducks just 'cause they can, or polluting the lake and to hell with the future of the environment and everyone else, gets my blood boiling!

Would you RAPP them? Maybe this should be a poll!

I was going to ask how old the people were throwing the rocks at the ducks (in case they were little kids that didn't know any better) but I see that they have dip####s for role models as well. I think it's time for the whole lot of 'em to get an education. Do what you must to arrange for this tutorial.

just remember that a neighbour could be ur best friend, for what i gather that ur lake is semi or fully remote so who knows what could happen 2 ur stuff if they find out that ur goin to turn them in or do !! there is always one way or anther to turn a blind eye.

Little kid, stop using "ur". It looks stupid.

Then, after your are done learning how to speak/write, etc, realize that if we don't respect the ducks and other wildlife a little bit, they will go away. This is important.

I grew up in a hunting family and you could look at it as we have killed a lot of stuff over the years, but if you are going to sit back and not have a problem with idiots killing ducklings for fun then maybe you should stay out of the bush as a responsible person might have been looking for a camping spot and you got there just ahead of them.

I'm not a tattle tale type person, but I'm going to have a problem with this.

You can't live life under a rock in fear of everything.

Yes report them. If they abuse their privilages they do not deserve to have them

Tape them, post on Youtube, let CGN and Outdoorsmen or HuntBC do the rest!

Point of order however, there are bathing products available which are totally natural and do not in any way pollute water systems... marketed specifically for camping.

I suspect your neighbours were not using these products however...
