I am hopeful that someone reading this owns a Tobin .22 rifle. I have an action without mainspring (hammer spring) and wish to fabricate a replacement. I can see the two points of contact in which the original spring must have sat, and I deduce that it must have had a compound curve to it. I did a search of posts and found two members that spoke of owning one of these guns, but on contacting each in turn I have learned that both have sold their Tobins. I would very much like to find someone who still owns one of these rare guns. I would ask them to take the stock retaining screw out of their rifle and take a photograph of the action with spring in place. I am not asking that the spring be removed. If I see the curve I am sure I can make a copy. I can provide my email for photos, or if you use your phone as a camera, I can give you my phone number.
Thanks so much
