I looked around as well, but the cheapest I found was $125.00.

I ended up just buying some 7.62x54R stripper clips and using the rifle with what it was built for.

The Russian troops did not carry many extra magazines to the best of my knowlege, just stripper clips.

As a big bonus, they are only about $1.00 each.

That is from SVT-40(38),but very uncommon.

I had 4 of them on my table at the recent gun show in Vernon. All 4 were original. I picked them up in a trade last fall and they were on the bottom of a box of slings, along with other mags from pistols.

All were factory fresh and three of them were wrapped in brown wax paper, still covered in long term storage grease.

One person came along an without a quibble, ten minutes after the show opened, paid $125 each. He was smiles from ear to ear and of course I was pleased as well.

Original mags are not easy to find and are seldom available.

Just avoid the reproductions -- those things fail faster then a Trudeau policy. The lugs on the back function as if they were glued on.

well seeings as I have 2 x SVT 40s and only one magazine I have to wonder who it is that is hogging all the good mags

I have yet to find one that is not priced at +$200.....
