Tokarev TT-33 Advice on cleaning

Searched the forums for the answer to this question with no luck. I am aware of the corrosive properties of surplus ammo and have no issues with my rifles that use surplus.

I just bought a Tokarev tt33 and some Russian 7.62x25 so I am woundering if members who own Tokarev's clean the firing pin channel everytime they shoot corrosive rounds. I read a lot about the firing pin retaining pin breaking fairly easy when removing the firing pin. So is it necessary to clean this area often, or everytme. Not sure how much of the primer salt might work its way into this small channel opening so I ask the advice of those with experience in this matter.
 
I haven't had any issues pulling the firing pin out and cleaning it, I do it after every trip to the range.

I doubt the firing pin needs to be pulled after every trip, I'm just pretty anal about cleaning my guns.
 
Don't have to worry to much. I took mine apart after the second time at the range and it was a little dirty, but no rust (I put boiling water down the pin channel).
Some of the pins need hammered out, mine broke doing this. The replacement pushes out without too much force so it'll make cleaning easier.
 
I only removed mine for initial cleaning. Otherwise after shooting I just wash the whole slide under the hot water tap with an old tooth brush and carefully blow brake cleaner into the firing pin channel.

Slide and barrel get the hot water. The rest of the gun gets the moose milk (ballistol n water) on patches, q-tips and pipe cleaners, to clean up powder residue and any stray salts.

I leave it to dry, then grease it, reassemble, etc etc...

1500 rounds later and no rust... Just a broken firing pin :(
 
I clean my firing pin every second time, I also have little in there. I use Ed's Red without the Acetone and an old tooth brush to clean everything, and then she gets an oil rubb. Ed's Red gets in there good and the benefit is it's oily as well, so when you don't get all the Ed's Red out at least its protecting it.
 
If you don't have issue with the firing pin, No need to disassemble it. For a complete field strip (trigger included), go YouTube to see "Johnny x" videos...., I did those videos.
