Hey guys I'm a new shooter and new member to Gun Nutz. Im thinking of odering a Tokarev Tt-33 offline and was looking for some feedback on some of your guys experiences from ordering offline. Like the condition of the gun,any issues, where ya got it and how the whole ordering offline experience was.

I bought mine from P&D Enterprises in Edmonton, great people to deal with, and the transaction was flawless. Showed up in the mail a couple days later, but I am only a couple hundred km's away.

I bought my two from tradeex, they had the ammo combo at the time. Came with two mags, and cleaning rod, with each pistol. One had wood grips and the other plastic. Overall very happy with my pistols, the one mag seemed like it was used as a hammer, I couldn't load more than 4 rounds, but i maneuvered the mag back into proper form and works great now.

I will deal with tradeex again with future purchases.

Mine were packed in Thick layer of Cosmo, a lot more Cosmo than I expected. I used brake cleaner melt it away, but you could use varsol, boiling water or bake the pistols in the oven.

I bought mine at Epps. 1939 slide and the body was marked 1945. Parts from a pile I guess. The barrel was new, one mag and holster. The barrel has a made up registration number pencil etched on it. Because of the mismatched parts, I call it my little Russian Bastard. Shoots very well though.

I checked out the trade ex site. They still have that combo deal going on. Does the gun come covered in cosmoline? How did ya get it off? Thanks for the help!

I took mine completely apart (it has the plastic grips, don't want to wreck 'em), found good disassembly/assembly info on youtube, and run all the parts under scalding hot water. I then used brakekleen to finish it up and re-oiled it immediately before re-assembly. Worked like a charm.

Its an easy gun to strip down. Much like a 1911 process. The sides come off easily enough to, just look inside and turn the flat spinner "levers" and gently push the plastic from the inside of the mag well out. Gently is the key word, don't force it too much, the plastic is 60 years old.

I soked the metal parts in mineral spirits and blew out whatever cosmo was left with brake cleaner. Wiped down the plastic bits by hand.

Cheap price.
Very simple and very reliable.
Cheap plentifull surplus ammo and available quality ammo.
Strips right down with no tools.
Surprisingly accurate.
Slim and easy to handle.
Very easy to clean.

Not much more to say Sir lol It's one of my favorite hanguns which I have ever shot.
Buy one. You will not regret it.

The only thing that throws some people is getting used to the more perpendicular grip than most Western handguns.
But I can shoot very well with mine.
They are usually far more accurate than people give them credit for.

X2, I bought mine (1945 Tula) from Lever Arms a few years back for $180, great little pistol that has a lot of history behind it, and is heaps of fun to shoot!

Just picked one up myself from SFRC. 1944 frame, 1945 slide, wooden grips, new barrel, holster and one mag. De-greased and stripped it down completely before taking it to the range. Like the 1911's, easy to strip down to bare parts for easy cleaning. It does fling the brass far away so with surplus I don't care.
One of the best and accurate pistol bargains these days.

Do NOT buy from Badger Arms, that business has been blacklisted by CGN and many members here had nothing but trouble with them.

You can get your Tokarev from weimajack, he is a solid dealer on CGN, with an excellent reputation that is well deserved.

SFRC is very good too.

Cheers,

Check the EE on here man.
Haggle a bit.
I got mine used brand new unfired refurb soviet for $180 shipped to my door with the two mags , holster, cleaning rod.

Good times man!

weimajack (dealer on the EE), Tradex or Epps would be my suggestions. Epps and Tradex are sold out, so go with weimajack. I got mine from a private seller on the EE. Got an all matching `43 with one matching mag, holster and cleaning rod, with a mint bore for 150 shipped.

Yeah, weimajack is great to deal with. I got my two (a '42 and a '52) from Tradex, but you say they're sold out, so go with weimajack. I bought an SVT-40 from 1940 from him and I have quite a few of those and it's one of my better shooters
