Limited production, number 170 out of only approximately 200 manufactured. Single shot, hinge lock pistol with blade front and adjustable notch rear sights, serrated trigger and hammer spur, and one piece full length stock with black plastic grip cap and checkering ahead of the trigger guard and on the grip. Marked "A.H.TOMPKINS / SPRINGFIELD / MASS.,U.S.A." on the top of the chamber, "PATENT APPLD FOR / MFG. NO. 170." on the left side and "MF'D. AT / VARSITY MFG.CO." on the right. These pistols were manufactured through licensed production to Varsity Manufacturing Co. in Springfield Ma. Circa 1947-1953.
