Hello all,

Does such a beast exist in the NON-CUSTOM but newly manufactured world?

.308 Winchester caliber
Stainless steel barrel and action
Bull barrel - not fluted
Synthetic stock that can take a tripod and a sling
Open sights
Barrel taped for scope rings

If you know of one please let me hear about it...

If you want a bull barrel and drilled & tapped for scope base, chances are very slim that this rifle will have iron sights, since it is designed specifically for long range shooting. Unless you go for a 'tactical' type rifle, in this case, you'll have to forget about stainless steel, you'll have a parkerized or another flat black finish. But aside the iron sights, I beleive that there's a Remington 700 that pretty much fills all the other conditions

The Tikka T3 HB Varmint will fill these conditions too (no iron sights neither)

Just being nose..........Why the open sights?

Versatility....backup if the scope breaks while in the field. The more I research the combination of features the more I see that it is one or ther other. If you get a bull barrel you dont get open sights.
I guess I will have to choose between open sights and a heavy barrel.

Just get a back-up scope or reddot... you can even use quick detach mounts and have them both sighted in before hand :idea:
