Im not one to sit around too long before im bored..
With all of these snakes starting to get active now we r getting 25+ up to 30 degrees C days ive been alot less active in the bush.
Im working over summer for my Dad which is cool an with alot of Daylight left after work I decided im going to do some Still hunting.

I packed my .375win 94BB in the ute an donned the 'Fudd' suit, you guys been callin me! an i hit the Bush at bout 6:00pm . i parked about a Kilometer away from the Wallow i was planning on stalking into an sitting on for the remainder of the day.
it was crunchy underfoot as you would expect so slow an steady it was along a game trail deer an roos are using often. I got to a nice vantage point some time later , arohnd 7pm..
abiut half an hour of glassing the wallow area in the thick scrub covered in black berry bushes at tge bases of every gum in the shaded shallow gulley.
when in the clearing of the wallow i made out a Sambar deer through the 10x40s... I was a little shovked to see one so soon.
i watchef him for 6-7 minutes an also noted a Hindd an calf before the moved of further down the valley never to be seen again.
I took a little video as he was only 22" ich or so!
I was Happy to let him grow an i backed out the way Id come an that was my hunt!!

sorry no photos today, nxt time ;)

I found that the skill hardest to learn, was to slow way down, and see. Especially to see. Spending the time sitting still or moving very slowly, allows time to look around and see what else is around you, usually the critters that would have watched you trundle off past them, while they got on with their lives in your path behind you.

Yeah. Lots to be seen on a day out, lots to be enjoyed. It ain't all about the killing of stuff.

Cheers
