Just spent a couple hours in the field playing with my new CZ 455 Canadian

Picked up a box of Browning BPR Round Nose cabelas (400 rds for $30). I picked this ammo since it a lead bullet without copper jacket. and the price was good.

Fired close to half the box, not one misfire (then again my canadian is bolt action), no misfeed, overall I would say good ammo. I like the logo on the base of the cartridge and the brass is pretty clean.

I sighted at 40m and after a few fun shoots i backed up to 60m

I need to practice more, this was my best target at 60m (keep in mind) These were shot standing, leaning against the roof of my car.

My last two groups (bottom ones were my best).

Looking forward to try some CCI sub from the bench to see what this gun can do

It was fun to be out in the field

I got the same Gun from CT,$499 , just a few weeks ago.

Can shoot 10 into a 1 inch circle,at 50 meters.
Benched,3-9 vortex crossfire 11, CCI choot-end .

Good enough for me :)

Get the right ammo and you should be able to get closer to half that size.

That ammo does not get good ratings on the rimfire boards in the US. Some say it’s more accurate to throw the rounds at the target.

Congrats on the new rifle. I'd probably echo what others have said~it's capable of accuracy much better than that. Try CCI Standard Velocity (not exotic, not expensive, not hard to find) and watch the groups get smaller. For pest control, I use CCI Blazer in my CZ452. I've tried more types of 22 ammo than I can probably even remember (Winchester, Remington, S&B, Aguila, Eley, CCI, SK, Federal etc) and the only ammo all of my 22s shoot consistently well is the CCI SV. I always have at least a few bricks of it around as a result.

Congrats on the 455. I have shot lots of that ammo out of my 452 american. I did manage to pull off some 200m groups on steel measuring 2.25" etc. Not always that small but it does happen on occasion. I like the ammo. Decent price and shoots decent out of all of my 22's.

2.25" groups at 200M (220 yards) with a factory 22 rimfire and cheap ammo is beyond "not always"......I'd dare say most would never see that.

Is that a 1-shot group by chance? cou:

Not bad for standing. My CZ happens to shoot Winchester 555 really well. Once in a while I get either an underload or overload that expands the group a bit but most of the time its under an inch at 25. My CZ will do half an inch at 50 with RWS Match Rifle or Federal Gold Medal Match w/Leupold FX-I 4x24 and Leupold medium height 11mm rings.

I was a little skeptical of this claim and my first thought was "Internet Accuracy".
With a CZ 455, some CCI MiniMags round nose that gave exceptional narrow spreads in velocity and at 192 yards, had two separate 5-shot groups that measured 2 3/8's and 2 3/4's.
When this coveted lot of MiniMags was searched for in my stash I was down to less than 50 rounds.
Sighted in at 100 yards there is about 35" of drop to 192 yards. With one of those 4" self sealing rubber balls on a string measured to 35" below the point of aim 4 hits out of five shots was okay and that is where the last remnants of that lot went. The ball would travel about the diameter of the ball (N E W S) and it takes a while for the ball to settle for a subsequent shot. Time of flight was over 6/10's of a second.

Indeed...that sounds awfully tight for a .22 Long Rifle...at 220 yards..;)

It's doable, some factory rifles are capable though the "cheap ammo" part makes me a little skeptical, those muzzle velocities gotta be tight to form a decent group at 200. I suppose anything is possible and if you fling enough lead you'll eventually and randomly get a good string of cheap ammo for a group. I did 1.679" for 10 shots at 200 yards for this month's RFC match, has me in third behind two guys that shot 1.3's.

Good luck with the new rifle OP, they do look nice and I got one of them a couple years ago. Hope you have better luck with it than I did.

I had done it a few times on windless days gf was there and walked down to see. Like I said doesn’t happen often but it has happened on more then one occasion.
My rifle is also bedded, and yo dave light trigger. Also engraves most bullets.

I have had a few 455’s that were factory fresh that would only do 1-1.75” at 50 with any ammo.
