Well, after agonizing about it and reading way,way too many internet reviews and watching a ton of Youtube videos I took the plunge and bought a pistol caliber carbine. In this case a Kel-Tec Sub 2000 (Glock mag version). From everything I've read online it will either be the best thing since sliced bread or the biggest piece of junk I ever owned......I guess i'll find out.

Hurry up Canada Post!

I was considering a pistol carbine myself... seems like a good idea to share ammo-wise with your handgun. Can I ask where you ordered it from? Thanks!

A place in Alberta called Kodiak Lake Hunting and Fishing store (thank you Google) These Kel-Tecs are pretty hard to find. Wanstalls had them but are out now (they only had one for Sig mags when I started looking but seem to be completely out now) ...they say they have more coming next month.

I thought about a CX4 but $1100 for what will be (for me) a range toy seemed a little steep.

edit

BTW...I bought a 18.5" NR version.

My Sub2000 was fine. It was quite reliable and was fairly accurate. Just don't waste your time or money trying to turn it into a non restricted 9mm AR. It never will be and by the time you're done you could have bought a real whatever it is you are trying to turn the Sub2000 into.
Here is a link to one of the better sites with accessories for it.

They used to ship to Canada but I'm not sure if they still do, you'll have to look into it yourself.
Don't waste your money on the recoil buffer, there really isn't much recoil to begin with and it stops you from being able to lock back the bolt.

Enjoy it for what it is and don't try to make it something it isn't. Keep it simple and light which is what it was designed to be.
My $0.02

I've had 2 sub2Ks, one Beretta and one Glock mag. Both were 9mm and functioned 100% reliably. My only "grip" is the front sight, but this is easily corrected with a Redlion aftermarket pc.
