Hello everyone. I'm looking into getting either a 1-6 or 1-8 scope for my build I'm just getting done. The factors I'm taking into consideration are:
-Weight
-glass clarity
-reticle + illumination
-cost

I'm wanting to keep my setup as light as possible so scope that are 22oz+ aren't as appealing as sub 20oz. I'm really looking into a Leopold mark 6 but wondering at that price point if any other brands can compete with that. Looking around the 3k price point as a limit.

Also open to all opinions on a good scope in lower price points.

Thanks for any and all help in advance

I have the leupold VX-6 1-6x24 with the illuminated fire dot 4. Love it, very clear, can turn dot off or make it brighter or less so. I'm thinking they are around the 2K mark now.
It weighs 13.4 oz's and I think you can get a custom cds dial for it too.

The Bushnell SMRS fits the bill in all categories except weight. I have the 1-8.5 version and the reticule and clarity are great. The cost is within your requirements too. The only hang up is the weight, it's a heavy b@stard, but not too much above your specs (23oz). The BTR-2 is a FFP illuminated mil based reticule with center dot and a large circle around it, making it like a red dot at 1x and giving a very usable mil sustem at 8.5x. The windage and elevation turrets are locking, mil based, with 10 mils/revolution.
