Looking for a top folding stock to fit a REM 870.

Anyone know any Canadian sources for the ATI or the Choate Top Folding Shotgun Stocks?

Any advice on which is a better stock or other top folding stock options appreciated!

Thanks

I heard the knoxx copstock actually helps with recoil, while the other 2 have your shoulder on nothing but plastic. Letting you enjoy the full effect of the recoil.

WOW! Just googled knoxx and their claims of recoil reduction are almost too good to be true (one hand shooting!) but there are many posts supporting their claim. I am currently searching for a Canadian source. Thanks for the tip!

No need to search! The Shooting Edge (see ad at the top of this page) has a bunch of them in stock right now!

Thanks krausb I'll check them out!

Reading a few more reviews I see that some people were having trouble with case ejections and cycling when the stock is in the folded position. I think most of the reviews that stated these problems were with the Rem 870. Knoxx also has this note posted on it's site: NOTE: The COPstock™ Folder must be used with short or “combat-style” forends to avoid interference problems with the stock in folded position. I have not purchased the shotgun yet and may go with the winchester 1300 (my second choice) if it prevents issues with the knoxx copstock. Has anyone here had any first hand experience with the knoxx copstock and either the 870 or the 1300?

I see your in the Calgary area...and you most likely saw them with your own two eyes!! As their website says they don't have any! DOH!

knoxx, all theway. copstock

That's the plan! I have an email into the shooting edge.

Now I just have to decide on the Rem 870 vs the Winchester 1300. I'm still researching for any issues that may exist with the copstock and both brands. So far I have read of a couple of issues with the 870 but have found nothing on the 1300. I think I will go with which ever works best with the copstock.

I own a knoxx breacher grip ( yes i can shoot 3" slug with 1 hand) , a knoxx specops, look nice and help a lot with recoil, i was trying to het a top folding but it doesn't fit with side saddle mount. I would not recomand the ATI top folding stock, I used one once and it's cheap made, low quality, recoil on standard hunting load hurt like hell, extreamly painfull and it's plastic all the way, I recomand trying to get a metal one from someone else. for my knoxx stock I ordered directly form Gravel MPI Agency ( direct factory supplier) as a retailer I have that kind of privileges, and I pay my parts retail price

i dont get it, i one hand 3" magnum slugs with my pistol grip shortie and its not bad. i imagine any foldiing stock would absorb just fine. :shotgun:

It is on an aluminum receiver M500 so it's pretty light, the buttpad is very small and focusses the felt recoil over a small area and the length of pull means that if you get a tight cheek weld you often get hit in the nose by the hinge.

I'm not recoil sensitive and shoot a 20" .375 H&H carbine off the bench without problem.

I'm using an HP9-1 with Knoxx Specops these days.

It's on the right with some of my other bush guns.
