Top ten reasons you SHOULD shoot IDPA

What are you guys referring to when you say *DPA, I am only aware of IDPA

CDPA is the other large xDPA organization (Operating through CSSA) but there is also IDAP (Indepentend Defensive Pistol organisation) ODPA (Ontario Defensive Pistol Association) and a few others...

The point about the equipment reality check is good. It's interesting to see (and painful to watch) how many guns will not make through a match (either IPSC or IDPA).

As a frequent victim of such equipment stoppages, I really like it when I get a gun and load that works 100%, is reasonably accurate, and meets the power factor.:)

Then the rest is up to me to screw up!

you know my glock 17 has NEVER let me down, the only changes I made from factory is to change the front sight out for a factory configered trijicon site that mimics the factory one... ie: no tritium.

that is the only down fall of glock is that plastic front sight.... the plastic fixed rear sight is good to go

Crawling up off the floor slowly after just reading this, I gasp for air and cry out "the moon will be blue tonight"!

Wes I do believe that is the first thing I have ever seen you type negatively about the Glock. You aren't suggesting the gun isn't perfect are you. TDC will be very, very angry.:D

Manitoba also has thier own home grown *dpa as well...

It is ODPL actually. (Ontario Defensive Pistol League), MDPL (Manitoba Defensive Pistol League) was an offshoot sister league which were far more enthusiastic than us (Website, apparel, etc...).

All a game. Play safe have fun, shoot to the best of YOUR abilities.

Are you refering perhaps to the multitude of *DPA groups and their constant bickering as to who is better?

NO! It really was my mistake on the post, I picked the wrong smilie, instead of this :D, I should have inserted this, :stirthepot2:, MY BAD.

As you are well aware, I shoot both, and enjoy both, it is just the one "I" that has me baffled at the moment, damned classification crap! How can someone shoot a pile of matches, and not be classified yet, is beyond me, it is going to be a 3 or 4 year ordeal at this rate, even to be calssified as a "D" shooter, LOL, :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Which "I" would that be?

No such thing as a "D" shooter in IDPA. But we do have a Novice division. Shoot the classifier and you will be classified in an instant if you shoot IDPA.
