Greetings,
I am a long time shooter, collector and hunter who would like to get back into hunting regularly after a couple years of limited opportunities to get out of the city. I have been hunting and shooting since 1989, am currently serving as an officer in the reserves and have a membership in the Royal Canadian Military Institute's Pistol Club, plus a weekend membership at the Silverdale Range, to which I usually get a ride with another member who lives close to me.
Unfortunately I do not have access to a car and consequently am looking for people in the Toronto area (more particularly the West end) who might be interested in a hunting partner for weekend excursions North of the city. My past hunting experience has familiarized me with numerous places to hunt both upland game and waterfowl, mostly within one to two hours drive from Toronto. A number of these locations have recently opened up for Sunday hunting. Further, I have an assortment of decoys, including a selection of mallards, wood duck, and Canada Geese for the early season, plus two dozen bluebill dekes for once the divers arrive. I have a float tube that can be used for retrieving birds, which is sufficient for several of the smaller bodies of water that I'm familiar with. In addition, I have decoys for shooting crows and pigeons, plus an assortment of calls for various species, a few of which I've mastered using. I also have a clay pigeon trap, and a shooting table/stand and other accessories for sighting in rifles. I also have the firearms to hunt predators and larger game, including a compound bow, though I would have to admit limited experience in those facets of hunting. I am a relatively new, but avid reloader as well.
If there's anyone in my neck of the woods who's interested in having someone to join them on some exursions, I'd be happy to contribute to their gas expenses, introduce them to hunting spots for different species that they might be interested in hunting, plus bring along whatever decoys and gear that might be suitable for or contribute to our success on any given excursion.
Naturally, I prefer to hunt with people who maintain a high standard of ethics in regards to their treatment of wildlife, commitment to safety and maintaining a good image towards landowners and the non-shooting public. If you are interested in my offer, please PM me and I'd be happy to speak further to you.
With Regards,
Frank
