Anyone know if Toronto International Trap and Skeet club is still open on Sundays? I try calling but no one answers. Thanks.

It's open Sundays, but that's when all the Fudds that "own the skeet range" are there. Saturdays are much better.

The crusty old pricks feed the machine with tokens for 5 rounds then expect to shoot all of them at their leisure. You have to get a range safety guy to come over and tell them to let you shoot. Drives me nuts.

nice thing about TITS is that you really don't need to be a member to walk on.
looks like @ the uxbridge club you are 'encouraged' to be a member. On their site they say visitors can shoot up to 3 times.

Can anyone tell meir youth model shotguns are allowed at this range? The website states shotgun barrels be 26" minimum. Youth models are typically 21". Does anyone know?

If it's for a young shooter or small woman, they'd probably allow it.

But I believe they have the 26" barrel rule to keep out the tacti-cool types and black shotguns....

Ahh, wonderful. I hope this is the case. My small wife has a LOT of trouble shooting a full size shotgun, based purely on weight. I hope I get a firm answer from the email I send or someone here who has shot there with one.

Au contraire, I believe they have the 26" barrel rule to keep out the shooting-off-their-own-kneecap types, but that might just be a rumour...

I do not know all the details, everything I've got is hearsay. My understanding is that there was an accident involving a safety violation that lead to an injury that prompted the minimum barrel length rule referred to above at TITS and some other clubs. Not sure where or how this incident took place.

There was at an accident there almost two years ago but that rule was in place before that. I know of no other club in Ontario with a barrel length regulation.

I've shot at TITS. Wasn't impressed with the club's attitude toward safety. Won't go back.

What exactly do you mean by attitude towards saftey? Just curious, only because it's my only experience as far as clubs go. Thanks!

When there I witnessed repeated infractions of basic safety rules including closed guns and shooting off the post, no ears and eyes and a near absence of proper muzzle control. No one at the club seemed to give a damn and God forbid you mentioned to one of the paesanos not to point his gun at your chest.

It didn't come as a surprise to me when one of their members was charged for a negligent shooting.
