Just purchased a Tos Trencin SN 50c lathe. Most of the lathe is there and is tight, but it seems to be missing a few parts, not detrimental but would be nice to have. I need the 40 tooth gear the idler sleeve on the threading gear. No biggie I can just make what I think is correct, but would like a new one for a template. There is also a few other small missing pieces. So does anyone know of a supplier in North America where I could possibly get a few?

As an idler it will maybe only have a single keyway in it, yeah?

Look up how to determine the Module or Pitch Diameter of a gear, and use one of the other gears to determine the size. https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=determine+the+Module+or+Pitch+Diameter+of+a+gear

Normally the formula just requires the OD and tooth count.

Then any gear supplier, can get you what you need. You want to know tooth count, Pitch/Module, inside diameter, and face width. Boston Gear, for example, but there are others.

Being from Eastern Europe, module (metric)is more likely than Pitch diameter (Inches)

Thanks, I have been tossing around going that route, I have had that done before. Just thought, well, maybe, someone has a few of the other parts too, that would just make my life a little easier. My hopes for finding the parts I need is fairly low. I suspect I'll be making the few pieces I need.

TOS machinery had been around in Canada for quite a while. Tough machines built like a tank, parts shouldn't be too much of a problem to get. However, years ago I ran a TOS boring mill and the lead screw nut wore out after years of use/abuse. We were quoted 8 month delivery, so we ended up making one ourselves.
