Touching up matte finish

Anybody have any ideas how to touch up scratches on my matte finished shotgun? I have considered parkerizing the entire gun, but I just wanted to know if there is a quick, easy, and cheaper alternative. Thanks for any input.

One of the problems with the rougher matte finish is the surface is rough and everything that touches it can mark it easily. Kind of like the matte finish is a blackboard and everything that touches it is the chalk.

The marks you see are usually a change in the rough surface more than the blueing colour - no easy fix.

I am in the process of waiting for my shotgun which is also scratched - I sent it to the factory to see if they could help, but they told me there is nothing they can do.

I am hooped unless I want to spend $200+ on a paint job (which I don't). Just going to live with it and let it serve as a reminder to be more careful

for a cheap and easy cover-up, try Birchwood Aluminium black. Works on metal as well. Matt-type finish - goes on like cold bluing. may not wear that well, but good for minor coverups
