Good Day,

Not my usual forum but in this case its the one that fits the bill. And after this one I will be looking into more often.

I picked this up on the weekend and after extensive searching I could find very little on this model. I posted on Rimfirecentral.com and it looks to be a TO3-14 from the info they could find.

It does say TOZ-14 on the reciver and made in the USSR. It looks as though it has had very little shot through it as there was, past tense as I have put some down it, blueing still in the bore. The sights and globe are factory as they match the insignia on the ladder sight on the pipe. It shoots very well and I picked it up for a steal.

If there is anyone here that could give me some more info on this model it would be great...as there seems to be very little on the web.

The only one that I could find was given to me from a Russian site that I could not even read the posts. But pictures tell a thousand words.

Cool rifle man! I was looking at Toz-17 online the other day and was trying to figure out a way to attach a peep sight to it later (probably remove the rear sight and add a tech sight to it). It seems that Tula already had that same idea. I may need to hold off buying a Toz-17 and see if I can find the 14 at a gun show or something.

I hope you find out some info.

Swarm, I put a peep sight on my TOZ 17. I don't remember the brand right this moment, but I ordered it from Brownells this spring. It slid onto the dovetails for the scope mount. It's much nicer to use than the original rear iron sight.

Well, I don't think that originally comes out like that from the factory. For me, it seems like the barrel has bben cut, but without making he right angle. it should be 11 degrees, I might be wrong here. The other end also has been cut, to adapt the peep site. Now, the rifle shoots that well because it has a semimatched chamber, but the frontal cut by the way it's done, could have screwed up everything. There is nothing wrong in cutting the barrel, it is only the way was done.
