Just receiver my first Toz 78!! WOW what a deal $132.00 @ my door from Armrus!! Just wondering if anyone can suggest scope rings that i can buy? I think it has a 3/8 dovetail receiver? Can anyone explain the difference(post pics) between a dovetail, weaver, mounts, bases, etc, etc? Thanks.

I've used Weaver .22 rings and Burris .22 rings, both worked fine. You don't need any base as the rings go right on the grooves (dovetail) on the receiver. You will need really high rings of you want to mount a scope with the rear sight base on, which gives a crappy cheek weld. You can drift the 2 pins out and drift the rear sight off the front of the dovetail pretty easy. That way you can use normal height rings.

I think the Toz-78 has 11mm grooves. Some rings will fit a broader range of groove sizes then other's. For example 9.5-13 mm.

A good site is http://ebrooks77.50megs.com/ I ordered Weaver Mount Adapters, BKL 257 rings, and Burris Signature Zee Rings from that site since I have recently acquired both a Toz-78 and a CZ 452 Varmint.

One thing you could always consider is a compact scope, or a red dot type scope if you don't want to remove the rear sight although I'm seeing more and more people buying the larger Adjustable Objective lens scopes like the 2.5-10x, 6x-18x, 6-24x, or even the 10-40x

Thanks people!! Seems I have another problem :( Upon disassemby of the of the trigger mechanism from the barrel the safety spring fell out and what looks like a lock washer. I managed to get the spring back in place but do not know where the lock washer goes (can't seem to find in exploded view). It also seems the bolt does not go back into the receiver unless the screw is backed off from the trigger mechanism. Any help would be great!!

Forget any replies to the previous post! I place the lock washer in between the screw and the other washer and it seems to solve all problems!! Looking forward to taking her out tomorrow and firing a few hundred STINGERS through her!!

I didn't disassemble the trigger machanism. I just detached it from the receiver to give it a good cleaning :) and that when the spring came off but like i said i wasnt sure were the lock washer came from :)

I have a TOz 99. The semi version. I took it apart once for a good cleaning but couln't put it back together. I had to bring it back to Valerie at Armrus. He helped me to put it back together.

Congratulations on your purchase and goodluck shooting

The TOZ seems to be chambered for sandard .22lr. I know mine is pretty hard to close the bolt on the stingers.......

Just finished firing a load of STINGERS!!! No problems!! Deadly accurate out of the box!! What fun!! No regrets!!
