Hi All,
C.Tire Nanaimo has Tula TOZ-99-04L model on sale till Thursday for $189.99.
This is .22 semi-auto Russian. Birch? Monte Carlo style stock with a Schnabel forend. Includes 2-5 round & 2-10 round plastic mags, tool kit & "English" instructions.
After searching some threads it looks like it has the same sear that people had breakage issues with, stay away from anything but standard velocity ammo.
Fit & finish not bad on both the wood & metal.
Had to bring one home to meet the TOZ-8M & TOZ-16, now off to detail strip.

Edit too add: they had one in the warehouse & a display model left this afternoon.

I get tempted, then remember all those guys with bysted sears and no where to get spare parts....
II have a TOZ 78-1 and 78-6....good accurate guns.

I had great fun with mine a few years ago. Accurate and reliable. Only used sub ammo in it cause of wimpy sear. Sold it in fear to get stuck with a broken rifle. Maybe they took care of this issue. Maybe... If the clerk would allow you to strip it and have a look at the sear just to confirm.

I just picked one up. I was shooting some standard and high velocity with no issue's. Mags are a bit tricky to get use to as they don't always seat properly but a little smack on the bottom seats it just fine.
Accuracy is excellent. The rotary sights are bang on at said yards. I had no problem hitting 3,2,1 spinners at 50yrds and I had 2" groups at 100yrds with open sights bench rested. It's got a nice length of pull for a .22 and I find it very comfortable to shoot and I'm 6'3. I didn't expect such a nice looking gun for the money either. The stock is well made and comes with a cheek weld and sling swivels. It's a solid gun for any price.
