Trace Optics full line

Do those optics actually work unlike the cheap chinese ones on ebay? I would be interested if they are functioning scopes that could handle a .223

is there any available info on these optics? I know they pretty much copy anything higher end but thats about it. Theres a video on youtube of a guy shooting a ACOG replica, and he mentioned poor eye relief in one of his comments...sort of crappy for a quick target acquisition optic.

Vault distribution appears to be the only supplier and they have a forum. I havent had time to search around. Canada Ammo keeps selling out of the 551 & 553, but no one is sharing their experiences. I bought a 551, just havent had a chance to test it.

Just my 2c but I got one (model 551) w/ my sub2k zombie edition and wasn't to impressed, rusted adjustment screws and a loose fit on the rail (had a fickle set screw that was cross threaded into the adaptor when I got it so it never held well on the rail and never held a zero past a mag or two). Not trying to take the wind out of anyones sails. For what they are I suppose they are pretty decent but beware. (Gary at vault got me a new optic when I called him but this has just been my general experience with this optic in particular, I didn't try out the new one as I sold the Sub2k right after to a fellow CGN'er)

I bought one off a fellow CGNer. Well he sure saw me coming cause I took it home and went to put it on my rifle and it pretty much fell off and also had a peice broken off and left in the box

I have the Trace Acog 4x32 model, and it is amazing! 200 yds no problem on my 14.5 AR-15. (and yes i have the Acog tr31f also) they have crystal clear lenses.

Can anyone share his experience with the Trace Optics 553 Holographic Sight Quick Detach?
Is it worth it? for the price. What about the battery life?

The 553 is ok reticle is dim and the recoil of the gun knocks the quick detach battery lock up and poof no power, the acog version however has been decent holding up to the recoil of a sks but u have to loctite the crap out of it to keep the mounting screws from coming undone
