Tracer ammunition is it allowed here? Im assuming since I don't see any in stores its a no go but just thought Id ask and check... what's the rules regarding this because I swear I seen some many years ago?

From my understanding some was allowed to be imported into the country and then they changed their minds ? . I'm sure someone will have a more accurate take on this but I do know you can occasionally find it for sale at gunshows.

NRCAN approves ammunition for sale. At one time they refused to allow tracer ammunition to be sold commercially. Currently it is allowed but they state that the projectiles must be tested and approved as safe.

Chasing after ricochets in the bush gets old real fast. Didn't want to be the fool that starts a massive forest fire so I stopped using them for ground targets.

Going all 'gulf war at night' is still fun tho.

I shot some years back. Not many places you can safely shoot it. They can easily cause fires and I read they are highly toxic. I may still have some if anyone wants a box around Vancouver

We had a guy fire some WW2 30-06 tracer on the 200m range, I guess he didn't think that a 600 yard burn on a 200m range was asking for trouble. For the record, it is. Range was shut down completely while they tore out the burned up tires and replaced them.
