Was looking at a VX freedom. 4-12x42 CDS. With side focus. Liked the optics and features, but how reliable is the Freedom series in maintaining its zero and repeatable tracking of its turrets?
Imho the most important features of any scope
I like to hear from people with first hand experience with this scope series.
Thank you for your input

I`ve got 2 of them, a Freedom VX Rimfire 3-9x40 Tri MOA and a Freedom 6-18x40. Very impressed with both, they track perfectly and the glass is excellent. I have more expensive Leupolds and some Zeiss Conquests and to be honest I do not see where they are that much better. In fact I think the Freedoms have better glass than the VX-3 series and close to the Conquests. They are a great value for the $$$ and would buy them again no problem.

What I don't like about them, is the lack of positive clicks on the adjustments. A friends has adjustments that feel like rubber, not positive at all.

I have two of the Freedoms as well. Yes very good optics for the money, but I too find that the adjustments are mushy. You go to give one click and it kind of gives a feeling of one and a half or almost two clicks. Not sure how it would handle being on a heavier recoiling rifle. I have one on a .22 and the other was on a 6.5 Swede. Not to the same quality as the higher end Leupold IMO. I guess they have to cut corners somewhere to keep the cost down and that is where the quality seems to be lacking.
