tracks?

found these last week at around 2200m elavation east of pemberton, BC. looks like a cat I guess? sorry the pic sucks. curious as to what it was. there was a full set of tracks about 40' long across a snow patch. boot is size 10

Not the best pics as you say. Tracks seem very close together and too small for a cougar. I first thought lynx.

But just because you say they "look like cat" does not mean they are. The pattern the tracks are laid out in would be important.

Could be Wolverine. There are lots of Track idea sites, try Google and see what you find.

Lynx tracks.
Firstly, go by the step, the distance between tracks. This looks even short for a lynx, which is about 11-12 inches, on a normal walk. A cougar is about 18 inches.
However, sure fire method of distinction. In snow, a lynx track is just from a fuzzy foot, while a cougar leaves claw tracks. The front feet of both are about the same size, but if you can see the back foot track, it will be much smaller on a lynx.
