Hello all. just checking to see if anyone is usuing Tract spotting scopes. I have read a bit on them and the reviews seem quite good. I interested in someones first hand expeerience

Thanks in advance to all the replies.

Which model are you looking at?

I recently spent some time with their new 65mm. It is an impressive little spotter, eapecially for the price. The resolution, clarity and color rendition are excellent. Better than either of the 85s we were comparing it to. It even outperformed them in brightness, which surprised us.

They perform well above their price point. I’d have ordered one right away, but the reticle eyepiece isn’t as good as my current spotter.

I was thinking of the 27-55x80. I am not much for sheep hunting but more for target shooting/seeing bullets on paper. I am also considering their 22 rimfire 4-12 scope. I have heard good reviews in them also.

I haven't used their 80mm. But based on the performance of their binos (I've used the 8x42, 10x42, 15x56.) and that 65mm, I don't imagine you'll be disappointed. They're excellent Japanese manufactured products.

Max, JMO here but if you're just using this for targets I'd go for a lower cost scope, instead of $2K. It does depend on the distance you're shooting, I guess. I have an older (out of prod-still on A-Zon) Celestron Cavalry 25-75x70 that I can see .22lr at 175-yds easily. Prob good at 200-250 at least, but I don't have access to that distance. Celestron also makes Astronomical scopes and a low-cost one of those might do you. I have the AZ-50 which is the astro 'entry level' and it's OK but about 2-ft long so not 'range-friendly'. They do make some smaller table-top styles like the C-70 Mak that goes to 75x. It's on amazon @ ca $166. might be good enuf?

Looks like I have a spotting scope and two rimfire scopes on the way from tract.
They should be here next week. Looking forward to gopher season. Thanks for the replies
