I thought I would post my experience with Tract Optics, just in case anyone wants to order from them. I saw a post here on Gunnutz about Tract Optics and that they might ship to Canada so I thought I would look into it. On a Sunday I went on their website and there was a tab that you could speak with a representative, I clicked on it, and then the next thing I knew I was texting with one of the owners. He was super nice and answered all my questions and confirmed they would honour their first responder discount (15%) for us Canadians. He provided me the information on how to apply for the permit that I would need from the Canadian Government.
I went online and filled out the free form very quickly and had it back within a couple of days. I placed my order on the 17th of September and forwarded the Import Certificate to Tract Optics. With my discount, it came to $1558 Canadian, which included shipping. The scope I ordered was out of stock but I was told by one of the owners that it would be back in stock by the time they would be able to get the export permit on the US side.
On the 23rd of October, my scope shipped and made it to Canadian Customs on the 30th of October. It was held in Customs for a bit and I received my scope on the 13th of November. I had to pay an extra $228 for HST. The total to my door was $1778.
It came boxed very nicely and the scope looked very good on my Savage 300 Win Mag. I took it to the range today and placed it side by side with my Nightforce NXS 5-22. The NF is the best scope I have and it cost me close to $2800. The Tract PRS scopes glass at 100yds looked brighter and I couldn't tell much difference between the NF at that range. I then went to 200 yds and the glass in the Tract scope seemed clearer and brighter than the NF, or at least to my old eyes. The turrets were the same as the NF and seemed to track perfectly. I will do a proper box test at a later date but so far it looks like it tracks spot on. All in all, I saved a lot of money with this scope and I have just as good or slightly better than the NF. If anyone wants to buy a scope from Tract, I wouldn't hesitate at all.
