Has anyone used Traditions Pursuit II XLT or any other Traditions Model.
I Plan to buy one so Share your Opinion and Experience.

Lets get ready for the Season.
Good Luck:dancingbanana:

I had the tradition tracker 209, nickel plated= POS
I bought the savage MLSS. There is no comparison. If I was you, I would save a little more money and buy the savage! (Or at least an american made muzzleloader)
The traditions are cheap and made in Spain (just like the CVA and winchester). On the Chuckhawks website, they say that muzzleloader of all tree brands are dangerous, specially when used with more than 2 pyrodex pellets.

While traditions may not be the prettiest guns on the market, they are good shooters.I had a tracker model and the only complaint was trying to put the 209 primer in the breach plug , with a scope mounted on it. The break open models are far better.

Oh here we go ChuckHawks and that Randy guy!

Traditions work fine even if there barrels are made in spain.
They are not the greatest quality but like I said, they shoot fine.

I have had the traditions pursuit pro for 4 years and shot a few deer dead THE GUN HAS NOT EXPLODED WITH 130GR OF 777 nor have I had any pressure signs on my primers.

It is accurate for deer I can shoot 2 1/2 -3 1/2 inch groups consistantly @ 100 yards with 130gr of 777 and 250gr SST's.

There are better muzzleloaders out there but traditions will do you just fine.

just another thought.

Do you think that Winchester is going to put there name on a gun if it is prone to exploding ???

Few years ago, Ford(or GM???) put their names on a SUV that was prone to explosion when the gas tank area was hit. The company estimated that it would be less costly for them to pay the lawsuits(for the dead people' s families) than doing a national recall on this particular SUV model. Many deads and many lawsuits against them....

So you never know....

From the reviews I've read and from some people I have talked to - another option you may want to look at is the NEF Huntsman. For the $$ - a great option. Aside from that, the Savage is a nice choice!

Thanks for all the input from all of you folks.
I jut bought one and it looks nice, going to range tomorow to check .

Great views from all of you.

So did you make it to the range? How did it shoot? I have been eyeing one up at the local shop too, either that or the T/C Triumph. Whichever way I go, it will be wearing a nice new Vortex Viper 2-7X32 with the BDC reticle...can't wait!

i had 2 TRADITION ML the pursuit and the pro both were good shooters but both had very hard trigger pulls ...the best muzzleloader right now in my book would be the THOMSON CENTER TRIUMPH ...i have a T/C ENCORE ..it is barrel heavy and over built ...

It was the CVA Apollo that caused all the hubub back in 1996. Traditions was painted with the same brush because it was made in spain as well. I have used my spanish made inline for years without fear of spontaneous human combustion . The Traditions is an entry level ML, it will never compare to the big boys TC and Knight, but it will get the job done.
