There was a rash of trail cameras being stolen in my area last year, and its got me paranoid, so i've been looking for a camera that transmits pictures as it takes them, and with no luck. I have found a few that do it via cell phone service, but have heard horror storied about matching providers, monthly fees, service, etc.
At Exile they were telling me they have cameras out that send pictures out to a reciever up to x00 feet away on its own signal, so you can just hide the reciever off in the bush and get your pictures there. Double advantage of not having to walk out onto your kill zone to check pics. but havn'et found any sign of the existance of this mistical camera, and no exile didn't carry it. does anybody know where to score one like this?

thanks

Cabela's or most any huntng store will have these. One that I know of is the Spy Point Tiny-w and the Tiny-w2 check out their web site.

Spypoint seemed to have some issues with the first generation and in reading some of the new reviews on the W2, appear to have cleared things up.

I will be buying one in the spring to use as a security cam for my camp. I hope that it will never be needed!

ETA: The cameras are sold at major outdoor retailers.

I have a SpyPoint that runs photos out on a gsm data channel. It can be set to security mode and email/small you each time a new photo is triggered. Works well. Better still is good concealment for the camera. Can't steal what you don't see. I've been trying a couple day6 plo####cher pro time lapse cameras and they are working very well. No ir, no motion sensor, just interval recording.
