Now with the season over anyone else still have there cameras out? I set one up again yesterday. Dam cold -20, I like to see what made it through the season. A hike in the bush is a + aswell. I spotted a couple coyotes on the way out (got 1). On a sadder & angry note found a spot where some #### left the remains of his deer. 1 deboned (no prob) but a second deer was only skined and dumped:mad: To make it worse the #### left them in a open field, no cover & 35yds off a country road. How to improve the image of hunters! Rant over; have fun out there & let us know what you spot. AJ

I added my pics to the Photo Gallery (trail cam thread) a couple of days ago...Got my chip again yesterday 148 pics in 2 days!.
140 pics of the same little buck, standing there eating my friggin corn all night!!! Have to punish him for that. :D :shotgun:
Battery life on my Moultrie I50 remains stellar...has to be over 2000 pics, 2 1/2 months and still 56% batt. life.

how well do your cameras work when it gets cold? I brought mine home as I won't get back to the bush for a while and it was very cold. I only had 9 pics in the last 2 weeks it was out and it seemed unresponsive when I got back to it (-15c). It is a moultrie D40

My I40 ( with no solar panel) had at least 900 pics on it before i took it out of the woods, and the batteries were still at 78%

I had a solar panel for my 6v battery in my feeder, which was not in direct sunlight , and after 4mths, the battery was at 97%

Mine is an I40 I want to see how it works in -20 to -30. the plastic housing is fragile in this temp & care is required when strapping to the tree. I'll bring it in during Christmas weekend. There were some large WT tracks & a few moose tracks when I set it so am looking forward to geting it back.

Have you been to the "chasingame" website? In their Moultrie review, they show how to cut a wood block that fits in-between
the strap loops on the back of the cam. It keeps you from overtightening and warping the case.:)
They also show how to attach tape to the SD card to make it easier to insert/remove from that tight spot.

I'm going to get my chip again this aft., I'll post new pics in the photo gallery if there is anythng interesting.:)

Moultries strapping system kinda sucks, and you have to be careful not to put the straps on to snugly because when you do, it opens part of the camera housing allowing water to get in.

I made my own mount that can be turned and angled up and down by using the integrated tripod mount. I think that's the best way to go, and just forget the straps.

Too bad about the stuff you found. You would not want to get it blamed on you but it would be interesting to hang a trail cam watching the deer. See what kind of scavengers you would get on camera. I dressed a deer out in the field near home and set a trail cam on a folding chair near it. Got some interesting magpie pics in daylight and then left it out overnight. Next morning there were coyote and lynx tracks around the spot. But the trail cam had turned off at some point and I got no pics.
