trail cams

i know this is more then likly to be a repost but i was looking into getting a trail cam and my fear is the idiots out there that think that they can pic them up off the trees for free so the question is is there any way to lock them to a tree?

I was wondering the same but no matter what lock you install, the tree can still be cut.

true but something to stop a honest theft you know sees a lock and walks away

There are special cases and brackets depending on the manufacturer that lock your camera to the tree. I have never needed one for my camera, so I cannot tell you if they are any good.

I use 2 cameras, 1 well hidden, overlapping & showing second camera. Have only taken pictures of 1 person in the field-the land owner.

All of the cams are just a plastic case. The holes that are on them for a lock can easily be snapped-off with pliers in about 2 sec.

I'm lucky as my cams are on private property (still not 100% safe), but your best bet is to place them in an out off the way location.
Oh..and try to hide it with some brush etc.

I wonder how that glass front affects the sensor/IR?
