I see Canadian Tire has a Bushnell trail sentry 5.0 on sale for $160 (pretty sure that was the model name). It's digital with an infra-red flash, 5.0 Mp in daylight, lower resolution in night mode. Has anybody used one of these? Any other brands/models that would be better? I would want a digital unit for sure. How much resolution do you need? I see units ranging from 2 Mp on up, and prices from $70US to $1800US (that one e-mails the pics to your computer or cell phone, no kidding it's on the Bass Pro website).

Stay far away from the bushnell camera. All the one does that I have is eat batteries like crazy and when it actually does take pictures it screws up the camera card and I can't see the pics. I was going to blow it apart with the shotgun but figured I would use it in high risk areas. If I loose it I don't care.

Lower priced cameras are usually use a flash and not IR. If you decide to purchase a flash model to save some coin, you may end up spending a lot of cash on batteries. IR models use much less power. My I40 Moultrie has been out since the beginning of July, and has taken near a 1000 pic's, and its at around 78% battery life.

Check out this site, they do the best non biased reviews of trail cams I have seen. They do not sell cameras, they just test them.
