Trailboss and 223 rem

Standard load method for Trailboss is to find out how much powder touches the base of a seated bullet (of any weight) and that's your max. Reduce to 70% of that and that's your starting load.
If you want sub-sonic, just reduce until it chronies sub-sonic at your ambient pressure (speed of sound decreases as ambient pressure decreases).

Trailboss gets wonky pressure real quick if compressed so you need to be careful. It also tends to be position sensitive so you want to try to keep it full enough that there's powder touching the flash hole.

Was out shooting trailboss loads in 223 this morning 55gr with 6.3 grains trailboss, didn't have a chrony but the load was still supersonic, .75" groups at 50yards & no recoil, drop from 50-100 yards was roughly 4". Haven't tried anything lighter than 55gr yet though so no help there, planning on going heavier 64gr power points or 70gr Speer round nose & load it down till it's subsonic.

Still waiting for my order to come in. Ive been eyeing up new 22mag but want to see if i can duplicate that performance from my 223 first. Wait is killing me

I've gotten tighter groups with sr4759 than trailboss when loading 223 and 22-250 to duplicate 22mag velocitys 1900fps. I use trailboss when I want to duplicate 22lr speeds because it takes up more space in the case.

Im hoping to play between 1200 and 2200 fps. I ended up removing the brake i had on which was the reason i wanted to go subsonic in the first place. Now im just curious. Ill try to find some of that sr4759
