Unique is the powder to use..

It seems to be like hens-teeth for the last few years. Shame really as I'm almost out and in many cast bullet loads there isn't many powders listed I could substitute

A lot of other powders where used long before trailboss came along. Some being Reddot, Unique ,Bullseye, 700x,Hp-38 and win 231 just to name a few. Lots of information in the older manuals.

Unique is the one I'm almost out of and lack substitutes for

For lower velocity loads 700x will work in pistol and cast rifle loads. I do like Unique in a couple of calibers which is why I have been using other powders to try making Unique last. Unique is used mostly in 30-30 cast loads and in my 455 Webly. Post what your using Unique for and I might be able to give an alternative powder. I have over a Keg 10lb of 700 x so time to start using it up. Reddot is another I use a lot for pistol loads. I have a collection of older manuals that have information that the newer manuals don’t list.

Titegroup, HS6, 700x, 800x, sr4756, universal, hp38, pb, 4227, 231 etc. Depends what you are loading for. All are powders that can be used in some handgun loads. - dan

One of the SASS Wire members spoke with the company reps at Shot and was told it could be available this spring. Higher profit margin powders were being made first, but as the Supply chain, markets and shelves got filled, the lower profit margin stuff would start to appear.
Nice to hear, if they know what they're taking about, but I hope the story is true and production starts again.
Of course, any further escalation of the wars around the world will disrupt any hope of supplies becoming more available and less expensive.

When I'm shooting cast bullets in my Carcanos the reload information I have only lists Unique and 2400 for the 145gr bullets I have. I was using unique as well for shooting 44mag cast loads, but I switched to shooting plated bullets and using CFE Pistol that I use for all my other handgun loads in order to conserve my limited supply of Unique
