BTW, track. That is a gorgeous antelope!Does anyone know a company who sells trailer hunting blinds? Or, if you know someone who will build these types of blinds? Thanks!!!
A little off topic here, but depending on the rules where you hunt, something to consider is to make sure it's not still attached to a motorized vehicle when you take the shot. If it's unhooked, it should be fine, but here in Ontario, I believe having the trailer still connected could earn you a fine.Does anyone know a company who sells trailer hunting blinds? Thanks! The buck made the B&C record book, 84 4/8". Made a one mile stalk and shot him at 175 yards, with a 240 Weatherby.BTW, track. That is a gorgeous antelope!
Check the definition of a motor vehicle in your Provincial regulations, in Alberta it would not constitute a vehicle. I just checked, motor vehicle is defined as a vehicle propelled by anything other than muscular propulsion. A detached trailer has no means of self propulsion. Check your Reg’s.One contrarian question came to mind reading this thread. What at the federal and provincial laws for loaded firearms in a vehicle? Is a detached trailer a vehicle? Would the interpretation be different if the truck and trailer were coupled? Remember, the laws were written for criminals and gang-bangers riding dirty, not for country people whose boots are dirty.
Good ideas, but I think a drop top version would work better than a teardrop. Once in place, you raise it, and you have room to stand and stretch your legs etc. - danCould be a fun project. If I were making one I’d look to versatility. Something that could tow an atv, be slept in, ice hut, hunting blind combo.
Light enough to tow behind an atv on logging trails or nicer pole lines, behind wife’s cuv /mini van down highway. Not overly tall-wind resistance. I’m thinking teardrop trailer.
There’s tons of insulated panels on marketplace ranging from .5”-4” some with hard plastic on both sides, some aluminum. Think freezer panels.
If that doesn’t work, poor man’s fiberglass looks interesting. Canvas welding blankets go on sale at princess auto regularly.
Solar charged power suppliers are getting pretty good and affordable. Little 110 space heater might be doable. I think there’s some cheap diesel heaters that don’t make the tick tick tick sound on low?
I have one of those, been thinking of turning it into a shooting trailer with heat for winter range days. Originally bought it to move a motorcycle across the country. I think it would be too much for a quad to pull in rough terrain. Maybe one of the bigger side by sides, but that wouldn't fit in the trailer. - danI would look at 5x8 or 5x10 enclosures trailer if wanna pull with quad. That way can put quad into trailer for transport to area. Make sure big door is wide enough to get quad in and long enough
