Does anyone know a company who sells trailer hunting blinds? Or, if you know someone who will build these types of blinds? Thanks!!!

Would one of the small enclosed trailers work. Say 4x6 ft. Another option would be a quad trailer and add uprights for enclosure. Or one of the small ice shacks/huts that some of the companies make now

We have two one is a 12 x6 v nose cargo trailer with shooting ports …complete with heat the other is a homemade one on a 4x8 utility trailer

Lots of good ideas online for building one. I came across some that use a gravity wagon ( grain wagon ) as the base and just build a shell on top. Lots of room, very stable and easy to move a round in open areas but not so much for trails. Now, I'm search of an old one for next years hunt if all goes well.

I have a 5x8 trailer model that I insulated and put couple foldable beds, bench seat in along with windows and side door ( if lucky can find one with side door). This one I can drive my quad in( can am 400). And could be towed by vehicle. I removed running gear/ hitch and installed runners as installed ice holes into so can use ice fishing. My truck also have a deck on so can have this on with quad inside and another quad

One contrarian question came to mind reading this thread. What at the federal and provincial laws for loaded firearms in a vehicle? Is a detached trailer a vehicle? Would the interpretation be different if the truck and trailer were coupled? Remember, the laws were written for criminals and gang-bangers riding dirty, not for country people whose boots are dirty.

A little off topic here, but depending on the rules where you hunt, something to consider is to make sure it's not still attached to a motorized vehicle when you take the shot. If it's unhooked, it should be fine, but here in Ontario, I believe having the trailer still connected could earn you a fine.

That said, I know a couple people who converted 12ft covered hauler trailers for this purpose. Likely way cheaper than buying something purpose built.

Check the definition of a motor vehicle in your Provincial regulations, in Alberta it would not constitute a vehicle. I just checked, motor vehicle is defined as a vehicle propelled by anything other than muscular propulsion. A detached trailer has no means of self propulsion. Check your Reg’s.

This is an interesting idea. If there is a market for it, I could totally get into the trailer blind building business!

How much would someone be willing to pay for a 6x8 trailer blind I wonder...

Big buddy heaters put out a lot of heat but also moisture I have the RV cargo hatch ports on the outside .. on the inside there is a sliding lexan inner window. You can keep the window clear from moisture by having it slightly open…

Personaly I would think a metal shed wouldn't work well unless you finish the inside with wood. The metal will echo if by some chance you hit it. I did see a video of a guy who used a grain shed and just happen to tap the metal while setting up for a shot and the noise spoiled the hunt and spooked the deer.

Could be a fun project. If I were making one I’d look to versatility. Something that could tow an atv, be slept in, ice hut, hunting blind combo.

Light enough to tow behind an atv on logging trails or nicer pole lines, behind wife’s cuv /mini van down highway. Not overly tall-wind resistance. I’m thinking teardrop trailer.

There’s tons of insulated panels on marketplace ranging from .5”-4” some with hard plastic on both sides, some aluminum. Think freezer panels.

If that doesn’t work, poor man’s fiberglass looks interesting. Canvas welding blankets go on sale at princess auto regularly.

Solar charged power suppliers are getting pretty good and affordable. Little 110 space heater might be doable. I think there’s some cheap diesel heaters that don’t make the tick tick tick sound on low?

I would look at 5x8 or 5x10 enclosures trailer if wanna pull with quad. That way can put quad into trailer for transport to area. Make sure big door is wide enough to get quad in and long enough

Good ideas, but I think a drop top version would work better than a teardrop. Once in place, you raise it, and you have room to stand and stretch your legs etc. - dan

I have one of those, been thinking of turning it into a shooting trailer with heat for winter range days. Originally bought it to move a motorcycle across the country. I think it would be too much for a quad to pull in rough terrain. Maybe one of the bigger side by sides, but that wouldn't fit in the trailer. - dan

Mine is made out of an an old tent trailer.. It was torn down to a flat deck; then 2. 4 walls tall enough to stand up in built and the existing plastic cap used for the roof. Insulated with foam panels and a couple old windows made it into a hunting blind that is easily pullable with a quad. It would even be road legal if that mattered to me, which right now doesn’t.

I should re-visit it, getting rid of the plastic top for starters, insulating the floor, better windows and a door big enough to put a quad in.
