I'm sorry if this should be posted in the legal section - however, I am a Noob and this is probably a Newbie question.
I just receive my PAL (hurray!) and ordered a 12 gauge.
If I have a shotgun hidden in my truck (Norinco HP-9 14"), is it o.k. if it just has a trigger lock, or does it need to be in a locked case? What if it is secured with one of those trigger-lock wall mount options (completely out of sight of course)? It doesn't vary from province to province I think... as I am between AB and BC a lot.
The only time I plan on carrying in the truck is when I go camping in "backcountry" areas. But what about when I stop for lunch somewhere and leave the gun in the truck? How about overnight, if I'm staying in a hotel?
What about when I'm riding my motorbike (off road or logging road, or on the highway heading to crown land)? Can I carry the gun in a backpack? I've seen so many black and grizzly bears over the last couple years of adventure touring, and I'm really starting to lose faith in my wimpy can of Bear Spray. So is my girlfriend.
I really need some reassurance on this. I bet you guys are getting tired of that...
