I carry all mine in the same case as the gun they belong to after an unfortunate trip to the range involving a lot of single shot "fun".

A brought a newly acquired GSG 1911-22 to the range when I first got it, knowing full well the dealer didn't supply a clip with it. Oh well, I'd just single shoot it, couldn't wait for no stinkin' clip to get here from Vancouver.
Jokes on me, it has a magazine disconnect feature. Dealer did come through with not only sending me the missing clip, but also a spare one for no extra cost.

My firearms are secured as per regulation.

All my detachable magazines are loaded and placed into my range bag

I load all my mags and put them in the range bag before I leave my house. Firearm is secured according to the regs. trigger locked and locked in it's case for the journey. Firearm is not in the same locked case as the ammo and loaded mags.
