transporting restricted in ontario

I want to take my handgun to a gunsmith. Do I call the C.F.O. office? Will I have to wait for an att to come in the mail?

Look at your LTATT first. Some of the older ones still have " Transport to and from a gunsmith" on it. If so, then no worries. If not, then you will need a STATT. Call your CFO and they can email you the STATT. In BC, it takes minutes. In Ontario, could be a few days.

You call the cfo if the condition is not on your LTATT, most likely it isnt on there. When you call you can ask them to email it to you. If you call early in the am they will normally have one ready for you in a few hrs. At least that what my luck has been with them.

Any time I've needed an ATT for the gunsmith/post office, I've just had to call them up and get a reference number from them. It's only ever taken a few minutes.
