Is it leagal to transport hand guns in backpack on motor bike to range.

I am not aware of regulation that stipulates the necessity of owning a 4 wheel vehicle with a trunk.

You can transport:
1) on foot
2) on bicycle
3) on Motorcycle
4) public transit
5) commuter train
6) car, truck, bus
7) horseback
8) rollerblades
9) airplanes (if you transport as checked luggage)

There are no restrictions on method of transport, but they must transported following safety procedures. (Locked in case, unloaded...)

I carried a Cz75b via public transit to my place a few years back... meeting the above requirements of course.

Don't forget you need your ATT as well :)

'How 'bout uni-cycle??....Pogo-stick??

No roller blades...please!

As for the bike question. You bet, a guy rolled up to our last IPSC match on an R6. With 500rds of .40 to boot!

^ soft tac bag with a zipper lock should do as a back-pack. Tank bag for ammo etc. Or there are those mesh tie-down things for the 'two up' position.

I might have been breaking the law well before Bill C-68 came into effect but I would stuff from two to four h/guns with trigger locks & in soft carrying separate bags into my rucksack plus targets & ear-muffs while ammo went down the other outside pockets & tools in another outside pocket. My regular glasses were large in dia with shatter proof lenses for safety at work & fit in my full face helmet.

So for something like 3 yrs I used the old range, but we lost it & since '80 our range is only reached by a very, very steep gravel/silt road with switches to tight. Also since then my m/cs have increased in HP as sportbikes are like that compared to a Yamaha FZ-750 at the time. So been by cage since.

I did a lot of PPC so the holster rig, less the speed-loaders was strapped around my waist.

Cool! Guess an AR15 will be too big to put on the back of my GSXR1000 tho!!

Don't be a baby!!! I lugged my 14.5" AR15 and a handgun in a hard case inside of a backpack. of course the upper/lower had to be separated but who cares... plus the ol' GSXR1000 got me to the range that much quicker ;)

Cool, I have my safety course at Burlington in June.. can't wait to join!

Sounds like I'll definitely be riding to the range .. . great to know.

Word of advice: get through your probationary period as fast as possible, and then keep in touch with the directors to ensure your membership gets processed as fast as possible.

I waited around like an idiot for a whole extra month and it turned out I was a member the entire time I waited. In fact my probationary period was over within 15 days instead of the usual 45 and I had my membership the whole time, I was just never advised. So, keep pressure on 'em until you have your full membership and att!

Awesome thread....my Bandit 1200S will be delighted to carry my new "passengers" this Summer....I was wondering about that!! Maybe have to keep under the speed limit tho as not to attract attention, lol
