Anyone shoot trap at GRGC?

I've never really tried trap, skeet, or whatever the hell you guys call it but I caight them shooting out of the corner of my eye while we were on our tour of the club and it looked fun... wouldn't mind giving it a shot.

I tried it at Rockcut back in September. It was pretty fun, especially once folks told me I was using the wrong eye to look down the gun.

Hey, I was new! It happens.

I shot it there years ago. It was waning when I was there and not a main feature of the club.

In our area Galt is the place to go for clays although there is trap at Bridgeport and Waterdown.

Hmmm... there looked like there was a good 20 people out. Mind you, when we first showed up there were only a handful of guys lounging around the clubhouse.

Good to hear that it's picking up. When I was shooting there 5 guys would have been noteworthy.

You will really enjoy it! It's a great feeling turning clays into smokeballs . . . you'll get hooked, at whatever it's called. :D

DMeNTED, Health Canada has determined that shooting clay targets is highly addictive, and dangerous to your wealth. Use caution.

What, pray tell, do you plan to use as a firearm with which to play this game?

Well... that's the thing. I don't have a shotty... so I was hoping to get to play with someone else's before I sink money into one myself.

The range here in Edmonton has club guns, but you need to be accompanied by a member. If you want to drop over here, I'd gladly take you out.

Perhaps some kind, generous and knowledgeable gunnut in closer proximity to you will unselfishly offer to introduce you to the sport. If they do, I'll understand if you don't want to make the trip to Edmonton. Really, it'll be OK, I won't mind.

I'd be more than willing but don't belong to GRGC. But if Demented wants to shoot clays at Galt there are several of us who I'm sure could work something out.

I have a gun or two he could use. Just as long as he didn't call it a "shotty." ;)

Demented.............
You can shoot trap at GRGC as a non member.
Cost is $5.00 per 25 targets .
Members cost is $3.50
We start at approx 0900 on Saturdays.
There are always someone at the club who would lend you a gun.

I was a member Until I had to move to far away to renew membership
I shot many clays there and missed many more  and had a good time at it
The guys that run it are great and most of the shooters are cool
I wish I could go back to shoot regularly again
