trap guns

apples and apples.... I would take the browning because they have a good record for durability and they are usually cheaper then the beretta.

for you I would suggest seeing which gun "fits" you better and then go with that :)

Both are excellent guns and one isn't better than the other. I prefer Beretta because they tend to fit me better and I like the lower profile receiver but I've also owned Brownings and been equally happy with them.

I have a Cynergy Sporting, Browning Citori Trap(not the XT), and a 682 Gold E X Trap. I'm not sure how the Citori compares with the XT, but it is a nice gun. I was'nt sure I liked the Cynergy's looks until I shot some sporting clays with it and it is one fast handling, well balanced gun. I tried a few rounds of trap with it and it was okay. I lent it to a buddy who on his best day broke 21 and he shot 24 and 23. I like a bit more weight for trap. At 7 lbs. it kicked about as much as the 682 which is 8.8 lbs. Of the three I prefer the 682 for trap. IMHO it is a better built gun and I like the adjustable comb, which my Citori doesn't have. I also like the amount of cast off the 682 stock has. Pick them up and buy the one that feels best. You can't go wrong.

You know I own a Browning Citori Trap but tried both an older 682 E and a newer 686 Trap. I was really torn as to which one to buy. For me the Browning was heavier but fit me much better and seemed to keep my head where it should be ?? The Beretta 682 did not fit me at all (the stock was not adjustable). The beads were almost on top of each other and it shot rather flat which I don't like. The 686 Trap fit like a glove and was lighter than the Browning. I liked the 686. I just recently tried a Beretta 391 with an adjustable comb and it also fit like a glove. I ended up with the Browning. It has an adjustable comb 32" Barrels and I use Briley extended chokes. It is the Tank of trap guns and shoots like a charm. Berettas are great but make sure you try the one you are going to purchse first because each Beretta seems to be a little different. The Browning....try one and chances are the one you buy will be the same.

Just as a note: I met a guy at my last competition that had a Browning Citori Trap combo. It was sweet and if they were around when I bought my Citori I would have gone with the combo. I know where you can get one of these if you are interested. Just PM me.
