Hi all,

I'm a complete newb who is interested in trying out trap shooting with my father (who is unlicensed). I live in Oshawa, and understand that guests can shoot at Oshawa Skeet and Gun Club as long as they accompany a member. Is it customary to make arrangements with a member prior to arriving? Or, is it possible to arrive, and have a member volunteer to show you how things are done? I ask, as I don't actually know any members, and am new to shotguns and firearms in general.
In addition, I'd be using a Mossberg 500. Is anyone likely to care that I'm using a pump gun on the trap range?

Hello,
You can call them ahead of time and the club will arrange to have somebody show you the ropes. They even arrange for use of a gun of you don't have one( they did for me). Nobody would care what you shoot on the range. You may need a specalized gun for higher scores, but for starting out it does not matter.
Hope that helps.

Trap and skeet are treated diff. then the rest of the facilities at most clubs and outsiders are welcome because they are paying their own way, when they pay for a round of clay birds.
