For some reason I always shoot trap better at my home club .Likely just used to the backgrounds. Might be a nerves thing because I feel more relaxed on the line at our club Do you break a practice round before a competition or dive right in.?

If you were to analyse your shooting technique you may find that you do things very differently at new/dif. clubs, i don't know what causes this, nerves, etc.....The best advise I can give is to develop a mental checklist when you mount your gun, this should be to remember to picture things the same, mount the gun the same, foot placement, etc. Develop this when you are at your home range and shooting good, and remember to go through the mental checklist everytime you mount the gun to shoot, no matter what trap range you're at. Another checklist item may be your timing, have it fixed in your mind from the home range, and go through it mentally each time before you shoot. Too Cerebral??? Yeah I know, I don't have a good grasp on it either!!!!

thanks

Some sound advise there, I'll try that,,thanks Ben. I know there is no black and white answer here. Getting your head around this games is the toughest part.

I always found that if I remembered to pee before I hit the line, I got in the groove earlier. Sounds funny I know, but when you are mentally grinding before you see the first one, you sometimes forget that you have to be comfortable physically. I registered about 40000 targets one year, so maybe practice helps too! hahaha

I find my club hard to shoot good scores. We have the disadvantage that the club house is about 2 ft from the 27 yrd line on House 1 therefore it can be very distracting shooting whne 100 others are right behind you. I find Vancouver one the best clubs to shoot at and have shot some of my best scores there.
