Jonas111,
There's lots of good guys at your Kelowna club that will answer your ????? . Just go up there and I am sure they will help you get started . If not , come down to Oliver and we'll get you started. We charge $4.00 a round and shell are approx $64 for 10 boxes. At any given practice session the average guy will shoot 3-6 rounds. PM me if we can help you with any other questions.

I will shoot between 50 and 300 shells on any given day for practice. Shells are about $6 per box of 25. The miscellaneous figure above is way low ... the priceless part is true.

$5 a round for the clays, and usually 8-10 rounds. ($40-$50)
$60-$70 for Ammo
$15 (membership cost/12)
Max $10 for gas.
So, around $135, and dad and myself get 2-3 hours of fun, as well as quality time, out of it. Good trade in my opinion.

This year I averaged
In the winter;
3 Rounds @ $4 each + $5 (+tax) for a box of ammo
$9/round or $27 for my day

In the Summer;
4 Rounds @ $4 each + $5 (+tax) for a box of ammo
$9/round or $36 for my day, twice a week

there is also food costs, coffee and snacks in the winter and bbq stuff in the summer. We're a social at bunch at my club.

I'm not a club member
But sometimes they give me club rates at $5 a round, sometimes non-member rate at $7
I usually do about 4 rounds
or......
Goto my buddy's place in the country
Few cases of ammo, few cases of clays, few cases of beer, and some pizza or bbq
Costs us maybe $50 a person and we have a great time

**********IMPORTANT*********
Drink responsibly
Dont Drink and Shoot
Stop shooting if you've "over indulged"
etc etc etc

I shoot at Pitt Meadows.
Non-members pay a $10 day fee (membership is $100 a year).
A round of 25 clays is $6 (members can buy 11 tickets for $60)
A box of ammo costs $7
So a non-member pays $13 per round of 25 clays. If you were to shoot 4 rounds of 25 it would cost you $62 including the daily non-member fee.

But like was mentioned, you can make contacts at the club and get ammo for about $60-$65 all in for 10 boxes, you can also join the club and buy the tickets and save there too.

If start shooting a lot, you can consider reloading your own ammo. Reloading isn't as cost effective with the price of lead nowadays but I can reload a good one once load for about $4.25-$4.50 a box (I buy in bulk, at least enough for 5,000 at a time and recently 10,000). I shoot a lot, over 10,000 shells some years so the savings can add up!

Generally speaking, it costs less than a day on a golf course.
$7.50/25 shotshells
$5/round x 4 rounds
Total: $50

BUT - there's no bar sat the clubhouse at most ranges (I wonder why?) and you don't end up dropping another $50 on high priced drinks and snacks.

I was paying $5 for a round of skeet or trap. Shells at $7.50 a box. A summer's afternoon/evening session would average 3 rounds = $37.50.
